I had to learn tabular SSAS on the fly for a work POC project, and didn't have time to find a training class, or traverse the hundreds of Google sites. Chapters 2 and 3 were key to understanding how it works. Got up to speed very quickly and met my deadline. Great book, highly recommend it.
Marco and Alberto are modern-day Rock Stars in the World of Power BI, and by rock star, I mean all the positive attributes: highly talented and always put on a great show, and with non of the negatives, as in trying to show they are clever and working the audience for applause.I had previously owned the first edition, which I was quite satisfied with, but the technology moves fast, and it just makes sense to pop for the 2nd Edition as well.
I liked the attention to detail in areas such as TMSL that have limited documentation on MSDN and other sources. Also optimizing tabular models. I’d highly recommend it to intermediate BI developers looking to get the most out of SSAS tabular.
If you purchased this book make sure it has all the pages. The copy I received were missing some pages between 264 and 297. This is the end of Chapter 9 and majority of Chapter 10. Up to that point, I enjoyed the book.
This is the definitive book to have for any professional BI designer, developer, support engineer. This is the must have resource in your library to excel in the Microsoft BI fast moving area.
